Metalworking: which ones are used to create an outdoor shower?
Inoxstyle produces showers in carbon fiber and AISI 316L stainless steel. Both materials guarantee a high level of resistance and unparalleled aesthetic characteristics.
In any case, it is undeniable that, in order to be able to make valuable outdoor showers, high-quality materials are not enough: in fact, it is essential to have specific and in-depth know-how on metalworking.
Hot and cold metal processing
Metalworking is a practice that has engaged man for centuries, who throughout history has learned to refine his technique according to the use to which the metal was put.
With the contribution of new professionalizations, techniques for metalworking can be divided into two different types of processing:
- Hot metal working
- Cold metalworking
The terms “hot” and “cold” refer to a value. That is, the ratio of the melting temperature of the metal to the temperature at which machining is taking place (and especially the proximity to its melting temperature).
- If this ratio is found to be less than 0.3°, the processing will consequently be called “cold” type processing.
- If it is greater than 0.6° it will be called “hot”.
- If the ratio has intermediate values, it will be called “lukewarm” processing instead.
There are three hot processing techniques:
- forging;
- casting;
- molding.
Cold processing techniques (such as deep drawing) are mainly intended for aluminum and steel sheets, so that they can then be bent or machined.
Finally, finishing consists of a series of operations performed through the use of machines and tools, with which various processes such as turning, milling, choking, filing, reaming, and planing can be carried out.
